Sennheiser HD555 Headphone
Where have these headphones been all my life? Already a fan of Sennheiser, the HD555 Headphones blew me away. The warm, natural sound emitted from these bad boys will make anyone feel all warm and cozy inside while rocking out to their favorite music.
Oh Sennheiser HD555 headphones, how do I love thee, let me count the ways. Well, let’s start with the first thing I noticed – fit. The HD555’s have a wider band than other models, so although they feel slightly heavier out of the box, they actually sit more evenly and comfortably on your noggin. The ear pads are large and fit over the entire ear, so you don’t have the awkward feeling of your ear tip getting squished. In addition, the pads are cushy. They’re soft and padded, and remain comfortable for long periods of wear. The cord is on the long side, which is a bonus because it saves me from breaking my legs tripping over it. The parts are also replaceable to lengthen the life of the product. Done and done.
Now for the fun stuff. The audio quality is amazing – for mid-range headphones they’re extremely efficient. You really don’t need a driver or an amp to enjoy outstanding, crystal clear sound. They’re headphones, but they sound like a high quality surround sound system. The sound literally envelops you in a cocoon of awesomeness. And everything sounds good on them – music (get ready to realize the cruddy quality of your ripped music), gaming, movies – everything. I can truly say that for this price, the Sennheiser HD555’s sound better than anything else I have tried in the same range.
One thing to note is that, like most Sennheisers, this model takes some time to break in. They have a tight, slightly uncomfortable fit in the beginning, and the sound is slight muddled. It takes about 100 hours to really warm them up, so don’t feel discouraged during this time. After the initial warm up period you’ll understand what I mean when I saw WOW.HD555 Headphones Specs
