Does tripping over, yanking, pulling, etc. your headphone wires make you want to punch Mickey Mouse or mercilessly beat up a clown? Before you go all psycho on the happy childhood characters, you should know that wireless headphones have some pros and some cons. As always, we can assure you that the ones on this site are, in our opinion, the best choices available. We should know – we have our editorial staff personally test drive each pair we offer you, and some have written evaluations so you can buy your headset knowing exactly what to expect.
The pros – wireless headsets are easy. You do not have to cart around a device linked by a wire, which is a huge plus (hey, no one needs more than one ball and chain, and these headsets are most likely drowning out your existing one). If you’re anything like us, you get very annoyed and often drop (or drop kick) your portable media device while the wires get wrapped and snagged and whatever else, so the whole wireless phenomenon is probably a huge plus.
On the downside, wireless headphones are known to have poor reception. Headphone technology seems to have trouble keeping up with the advances in natural sound technology, so that is no surprise. It just depends on your priorities. Do you want portable sound that doesn’t snag on every insignificant object you pass or do you want outstanding sound quality? Although the wireless headphones on our site are an exceptional mix of both concepts, you might want to consider a cord if sound quality is your holy grail.
